f76e39c531 x86/intel/cacheinfo: Shut up annoying warning
I've been getting the following warning when doing randbuilds
since forever. Now it finally pissed me off just the perfect
amount so that I can fix it.

  arch/x86/kernel/cpu/intel_cacheinfo.c:489:27: warning: ‘cache_disable_0’ defined but not used [-Wunused-variable]
  arch/x86/kernel/cpu/intel_cacheinfo.c:491:27: warning: ‘cache_disable_1’ defined but not used [-Wunused-variable] arch/x86/kernel/cpu/intel_cacheinfo.c:524:27: warning: ‘subcaches’ defined but not used [-Wunused-variable]

It happens because in randconfigs where CONFIG_SYSFS is not set,
the whole sysfs-interface to L3 cache index disabling is
remaining unused and gcc correctly warns about it. Make it
optional, depending on CONFIG_SYSFS too, as is the case with
other sysfs-related machinery in this file.

eda8eebdd1 powerpc/mm: Fix hash computation function
The ASM version of hash computation function was truncating the upper bit.
Make the ASM version similar to hpt_hash function. Remove masking vsid bits.
Without this patch, we observed hang during bootup due to not satisfying page
fault request correctly. The fault handler used wrong hash values to update
the HPTE. Hence we kept looping with page fault.

9665d5d624 packet: fix leakage of tx_ring memory
When releasing a packet socket, the routine packet_set_ring() is reused
to free rings instead of allocating them. But when calling it for the
first time, it fills req->tp_block_nr with the value of rb->pg_vec_len
which in the second invocation makes it bail out since req->tp_block_nr
is greater zero but req->tp_block_size is zero.

This patch solves the problem by passing a zeroed auto-variable to
packet_set_ring() upon each invocation from packet_release().

As far as I can tell, this issue exists even since 69e3c75 (net: TX_RING
and packet mmap), i.e. the original inclusion of TX ring support into
af_packet, but applies only to sockets with both RX and TX ring
allocated, which is probably why this was unnoticed all the time.

2e5f421211 tcp: frto should not set snd_cwnd to 0
Commit 9dc274151a (tcp: fix ABC in tcp_slow_start())
uncovered a bug in FRTO code :
tcp_process_frto() is setting snd_cwnd to 0 if the number
of in flight packets is 0.

As Neal pointed out, if no packet is in flight we lost our
chance to disambiguate whether a loss timeout was spurious.

We should assume it was a proper loss.

60334caf37 sched/rt: Further simplify pick_rt_task()
Function next_prio() has been removed and pull_rt_task() is the
only user of pick_next_highest_task_rt() at the moment.

pull_rt_task is not interested in p->nr_cpus_allowed, its only
interest is the fact that cpu is allowed to execute p. If
nr_cpus_allowed == 1, cpu != task_cpu(p) and cpu is allowed then
it means that task p is in the middle of the migration
techniques; the task waits until it is moved by migration
thread. So, lets pull it earlier.

af8d102f99 x86/intel/irq_remapping: Clean up x2apic opt-out security warning mess
Current kernels print this on my Dell server:

   ------------[ cut here ]------------
   WARNING: at drivers/iommu/intel_irq_remapping.c:542
   intel_enable_irq_remapping+0x7b/0x27e()
   Hardware name: PowerEdge R620
   Your BIOS is broken and requested that x2apic be disabled
   This will leave your machine vulnerable to irq-injection attacks
   Use 'intremap=no_x2apic_optout' to override BIOS request
   [...]
   Enabled IRQ remapping in xapic mode
   x2apic not enabled, IRQ remapping is in xapic mode

This is inconsistent with itself -- interrupt remapping is *on*.

Fix the mess by making the warnings say what they mean and my
making sure that compatibility format interrupts (the dangerous
ones) are disabled if x2apic is present regardless of BIOS
settings.

With this patch applied, the output is:

  Your BIOS is broken and requested that x2apic be disabled.
  This will slightly decrease performance.
  Use 'intremap=no_x2apic_optout' to override BIOS request.
  Enabled IRQ remapping in xapic mode
  x2apic not enabled, IRQ remapping is in xapic mode

This should make us as or more secure than we are now and
replace a rather scary warning with a much less scary warning on
silly but functional systems.

0231bb5336 perf: Fix event group context move
When we have group with mixed events (hw/sw) we want to end up
with group leader being in hw context. So if group leader is
initialy sw event, we move all the events under hw context.

The move is done for each event by removing it from its context
and adding it back into proper one. As a part of the removal the
event is automatically disabled, which is not what we want at
this stage of creating groups.

The fix is to initialize event state after removal from sw
context.

This fix resulted from the following discussion:

d840f718d2 tracing: Init current_trace to nop_trace and remove NULL checks
On early boot up, when the ftrace ring buffer is initialized, the
static variable current_trace is initialized to &nop_trace.
Before this initialization, current_trace is NULL and will never
become NULL again. It is always reassigned to a ftrace tracer.

Several places check if current_trace is NULL before it uses
it, and this check is frivolous, because at the point in time
when the checks are made the only way current_trace could be
NULL is if ftrace failed its allocations at boot up, and the
paths to these locations would probably not be possible.

By initializing current_trace to &nop_trace where it is declared,
current_trace will never be NULL, and we can remove all these
checks of current_trace being NULL which never needed to be
checked in the first place.

9c4c5fd9e6 perf/core improvements and fixes:
. Make some POWER7 events available in sysfs, equivalent to
   what was done on x86, from Sukadev Bhattiprolu.

 . Add event group view, from Namyung Kim:

   To use it, 'perf record' should group events when recording. And then perf
   report parses the saved group relation from file header and prints them
   together if --group option is provided. You can use 'perf evlist' command to
   see event group information:

     $ perf record -e '{ref-cycles,cycles}' noploop 1
     [ perf record: Woken up 2 times to write data ]
     [ perf record: Captured and wrote 0.385 MB perf.data (~16807 samples) ]

     $ perf evlist --group
     {ref-cycles,cycles}

   With this example, default perf report will show you each event
   separately like this:

     $ perf report
     ...
     # group: {ref-cycles,cycles}

     # Samples: 3K of event 'ref-cycles'

     # ........  .......  .................  ..........................
         99.84%  noploop  noploop            [.] main

   In this case the event group information will be shown in the end of

Merge tag 'perf-core-for-mingo' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/acme/linux into perf/core

Pull perf/core improvements and fixes from Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo:

    $ perf record -e '{ref-cycles,cycles}' noploop 1
    [ perf record: Woken up 2 times to write data ]
    [ perf record: Captured and wrote 0.385 MB perf.data (~16807 samples) ]

    $ perf evlist --group
    {ref-cycles,cycles}

  With this example, default perf report will show you each event
  separately like this:

    $ perf report
    ...
    # group: {ref-cycles,cycles}
    # ========
    # Samples: 3K of event 'ref-cycles'
    # Event count (approx.): 3153797218

    # Overhead Command Shared Object Symbol

3646e4209f drm/radeon: switch back to the CP ring for VM PT updates
For large VM page table updates, we can sometimes generate
more packets than there is space on the ring. This happens
more readily with the DMA ring since it is 64K (vs 1M for the
CP). For now, switch back to the CP. For the next kernel,
I have a patch to utilize IBs for VM PT updates which
alleviates this problem.

12ad100046 clockevents: Add generic timer broadcast function
Currently, the timer broadcast mechanism is defined by a function
pointer on struct clock_event_device. As the fundamental mechanism for
broadcast is architecture-specific, this means that clock_event_device
drivers cannot be shared across multiple architectures.

This patch adds an (optional) architecture-specific function for timer
tick broadcast, allowing drivers which may require broadcast
functionality to be shared across multiple architectures.

12572dbb53 clockevents: Add generic timer broadcast receiver
Currently the broadcast mechanism used for timers is abstracted by a
function pointer on struct clock_event_device. As the fundamental
mechanism for broadcast is architecture-specific, this ties each
clock_event_device driver to a single architecture, even where the
driver is otherwise generic.

This patch adds a standard path for the receipt of timer broadcasts, so
drivers and/or architecture backends need not manage redundant lists of
timers for the purpose of routing broadcast timer ticks.

fd5d93a001 drm/radeon: prevent crash in the ring space allocation
If the requested number of DWs on the ring is larger than
the size of the ring itself, return an error.

In testing with large VM updates, we've seen crashes when we
try and allocate more space on the ring than the total size
of the ring without checking.

This prevents the crash but for large VM updates or bo moves
of very large buffers, we will need to break the transaction
down into multiple batches. I have patches to use IBs for
the next kernel.

39dc9aabd8 drm/radeon/r5xx-r7xx: wait for the MC to settle after MC blackout
Some chips seem to need a little delay after blacking out
the MC before the requests actually stop. Stop DMAR errors

63fc1370c1 ARM: highbank: mask cluster id from cpu_logical_map
With commit a0ae0240 (ARM: kernel: add device tree init map function),
the cpu id value may include the cluster id and is no longer 0-3, so we
need to mask it now to get the right hard cpu index.

c7d5b93e98 ARM: scu: mask cluster id from cpu_logical_map
With commit a0ae0240 (ARM: kernel: add device tree init map function),
the cpu id value may include the cluster id and is no longer 0-3, so we
need to mask it in scu_power_mode to get the local cpu number. Since we
are only dealing with the cpu we are running on, the cluster id should
not ever be needed.

66555e92fb tcp: detect SYN/data drop when F-RTO is disabled
On receiving the SYN-ACK, Fast Open checks icsk_retransmit for SYN
retransmission to detect SYN/data drops. But if F-RTO is disabled,
icsk_retransmit is reset at step D of tcp_fastretrans_alert() (
under tcp_ack()) before tcp_rcv_fastopen_synack(). The fix is to use
total_retrans instead which accounts for SYN retransmission regardless
the use of F-RTO.
