commit 10cf4899f8 ("gpiolib: tighten up ACPI legacy gpio lookups")
If _DSD properties are available in an ACPI node, we are not
allowed to fallback to _CRS data to retrieve gpio properties.
This was causing us to fail if uicc-present and/or ese-present
are defined.
To be consistent with devicetree change ST_NCI_GPIO_NAME_RESET
content to reset so that acpi_find_gpio in drivers/gpio/gpiolib.c
will look for reset-gpios. In the mean time the ACPI table needs
to be fixed as follow (Tested on Minnowboard Max):

The driver now has all core stuff isolated in one file, and all
the hardware link specifics in another. Writing a pn533 driver
on top of another hardware link is now just a matter of adding a
new file for that new hardware specifics.
The first user of this separation will be the i2c based pn532
driver that reuses pn533 core implementation on top of an i2c
layer.

A deadlock can occur when the NFC raw socket is closed while
the driver is processing a command.
Following is the call graph of the affected situation:
send data via raw_sock:
-------------
rawsock_tx_work
sock_hold => socket refcnt++
nfc_data_exchange => cb = rawsock_data_exchange_complete
ops->im_transceive = pn533_transceive => arg->cb = db
= rawsock_data_exchange_complete
pn533_send_data_async => cb = pn533_data_exchange_complete
__pn533_send_async => cmd->complete_cb = cb
= pn533_data_exchange_complete
if_ops->send_frame_async
response:
--------
pn533_recv_response
queue_work(priv->wq, &priv->cmd_complete_work)
pn533_wq_cmd_complete
pn533_send_async_complete
cmd->complete_cb() = pn533_data_exchange_complete()
arg->cb() = rawsock_data_exchange_complete()
sock_put => socket refcnt-- => If the corresponding
socket gets closed in the meantime socket
will be destructed
sk_free
__sk_free
sk->sk_destruct = rawsock_destruct
nfc_deactivate_target
ops->deactivate_target = pn533_deactivate_target
pn533_send_cmd_sync
pn533_send_cmd_async
__pn533_send_async
list_add_tail(&cmd->queue,&dev->cmd_queue)
=> add to command list because
a command is currently
processed
wait_for_completion
=> the workqueue thread waits
here because it is the one
processing the commands
=> deadlock
To fix the deadlock pn533_deactivate_target is changed to
issue the PN533_CMD_IN_RELEASE command in async mode. This
way nothing blocks and the release command is executed after
the current command.

Currently it is not possible to only poll for passive targets
with the pn533 driver. To change this ATR_REQ is only sent when
NFC_PROTO_NFC_DEP is explicitly requested in poll_protocols.
As most implementations (e.g. neard) poll for all protocols
that are reported to be supported by the adapter, this should
not have much of an effect on current implementations.

Pull networking updates from David Miller:
"Highlights:
1) Support more Realtek wireless chips, from Jes Sorenson.
2) New BPF types for per-cpu hash and arrap maps, from Alexei
Starovoitov.
3) Make several TCP sysctls per-namespace, from Nikolay Borisov.
4) Allow the use of SO_REUSEPORT in order to do per-thread processing
of incoming TCP/UDP connections. The muxing can be done using a
BPF program which hashes the incoming packet. From Craig Gallek.
5) Add a multiplexer for TCP streams, to provide a messaged based
interface. BPF programs can be used to determine the message
boundaries. From Tom Herbert.
6) Add 802.1AE MACSEC support, from Sabrina Dubroca.
7) Avoid factorial complexity when taking down an inetdev interface
with lots of configured addresses. We were doing things like
traversing the entire address less for each address removed, and
flushing the entire netfilter conntrack table for every address as
well.
8) Add and use SKB bulk free infrastructure, from Jesper Brouer.
9) Allow offloading u32 classifiers to hardware, and implement for
ixgbe, from John Fastabend.
10) Allow configuring IRQ coalescing parameters on a per-queue basis,
from Kan Liang.
11) Extend ethtool so that larger link mode masks can be supported.
From David Decotigny.
12) Introduce devlink, which can be used to configure port link types
(ethernet vs Infiniband, etc.), port splitting, and switch device
level attributes as a whole. From Jiri Pirko.
13) Hardware offload support for flower classifiers, from Amir Vadai.
14) Add "Local Checksum Offload". Basically, for a tunneled packet
the checksum of the outer header is 'constant' (because with the
checksum field filled into the inner protocol header, the payload
of the outer frame checksums to 'zero'), and we can take advantage
of that in various ways. From Edward Cree"

Function nxp_nci_i2c_write currently assumes in case of
I2C bus NACK that the NFC device is in stand-by mode and
will retry the I2C transaction after a pause. This assumes
that the first failed I2C transaction will wake-up the device.
This is done by checking on EREMOTEIO, which is wrong. According
to Documentation/i2c/fault-codes ENXIO shall be used. Unfortunately
the NOACK return code is currently inconsistent across various I2C
host controller drivers. So only check for the generic error case
instead.
This is a temporary fix. As soon as all I2C bus master drivers are
fixed to consistently return 'ENXIO', then we can do the specific
error check again.

Reset GPIO shall be freed by the driver since the device used
in devm_ calls can be still valid on unregister.
If user removes the module and inserts it again, the devm_gpio_request
will fail because the underlying physical device (e.g i2c) was not
removed so the device management won't have freed the gpio.

The newly added nfcmrvl_spi driver uses the spi_nci

Add support for proprietary commands useful mainly
for factory testings.
Here is a list:
- FACTORY_MODE: Allow to set the driver into a mode where no
secure element are activated. It does not consider any
NFC_ATTR_VENDOR_DATA.
- HCI_CLEAR_ALL_PIPES: Allow to execute a HCI clear all pipes
command. It does not consider any NFC_ATTR_VENDOR_DATA.
- HCI_DM_PUT_DATA: Allow to configure specific CLF registry as
for example RF trimmings or low level drivers configurations
(I2C, SPI, SWP).
- HCI_DM_UPDATE_AID: Allow to configure an AID routing into the
CLF routing table following RF technology, CLF mode or protocol.
- HCI_DM_GET_INFO: Allow to retrieve CLF information.
- HCI_DM_GET_DATA: Allow to retrieve CLF configurable data such as
low level drivers configurations or RF trimmings.
- HCI_DM_LOAD: Allow to load a firmware into the CLF. A complete
packet can be more than 8KB.
- HCI_DM_RESET: Allow to run a CLF reset in order to "commit" CLF
configuration changes without CLF power off.
- HCI_GET_PARAM: Allow to retrieve an HCI CLF parameter (for example
the white list).
- HCI_DM_FIELD_GENERATOR: Allow to generate different kind of RF
technology. When using this command to anti-collision is done.
- HCI_LOOPBACK: Allow to echo a command and test the Dh to CLF
connectivity.

In order to align with st21nfca, dts configuration properties
ese_present and uicc_present are made available in st-nci driver.
So far, in early development firmware, because
nci_nfcee_mode_set(DISABLE) was not supported we had to try to
enable it during the secure element discovery phase.
After several trials on commercial and qualified firmware it appears
that nci_nfcee_mode_set(ENABLE) and nci_nfcee_mode_set(DISABLE) are
properly supported.
Such feature also help us to eventually save some time (~5ms) when
only one secure element is connected.

- Root out the wrapper devm_gpiod_get() and gpiod_get() etc
versions of the descriptor calls that did not use the flags
argument on the end. This was around for too long and eventually
Uwe Kleine-König took the time to clean it out and the last
users are removed along with the macros in this tag. In several
cases the use of flags simplifies the code. For this reason we
have (ACKed) patches hitting in DRM, IIO, media, NFC, USB+PHY
up until we hammer in the nail with removing the macros.
- Add a fat document describing how much ready-made GPIO stuff
we have i the kernel to discourage people from reinventing
a square wheel in userspace, as so often happens.
- Create a separate lockdep class for each instance of a GPIO
IRQ chip instead of using one class for all chips, as the current
code will not work with systems with several GPIO chips doing
lockdep debugging.
- Protect against driver unloading also when a GPIO line is only
used as IRQ for the GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP helpers.
- If the GPIO chip has no designated owner, assign the parent
device driver owner as owner.
- Consolidation of chained IRQ handler install/remove replacing
all call sites where irq_set_handler_data() and
irq_set_chained_handler() were done in succession with a
combined call to irq_set_chained_handler_and_data(). This
series was created by Thomas Gleixner after the problem was
observed by Russell King.
- Tglx also made another series of patches switching
__irq_set_handler_locked() for irq_set_handler_locked() which
is way cleaner.
- Tglx and Jiang Liu wrote a good bunch of patches to make use of
irq_desc_get_xxx() accessors and avoid looking up irq_descs
from IRQ numbers. The goal is to get rid of the irq number
from the handlers in the IRQ flow which is nice.
- Rob Herring killed off the set_irq_flags() for all GPIO
drivers. This was an ARM specific function that is replaced
with the generic irq_modify_status() where special flags
are actually needed.
- When an OF node has a pin range for its GPIOs, return
-EPROBE_DEFER if the pin controller isn't available.
Pretty logical, yet needed to be fixed.
- If a driver using GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP has its own
irq_*_resources call back, then call these instead of the
defaults provided by the GPIOLIB.
- Fix an undocumented ABI hole: named GPIOs were not
properly documented.
Driver improvements:
- Add get_direction() support to the generic GPIO driver, it's
strange that we didn't have that before.
- Make it possible to have input-only GPIO chips using the
generic GPIO driver.
- Clean out platform data support from the Emma Mobile (EM)
driver
- Finegrained runtime PM support for the RCAR driver.
- Support r8a7795 (R-car H3) in the RCAR driver.
- Support interrupts on GPIOs 16 thru 31 in the DaVinci driver.
- Some consolidation and new support in the MPC8xxx driver,
we now support MPC5125.
- Preempt-RT-friendly patches: the OMAP, MPC8xxx, drivers uses raw
spinlocks making it work better with the realime patches.
- Interrupt support for the EXTRAXFS GPIO driver.
- Make the ETRAXFS GPIO driver support also ARTPEC-3.
- Interrupt and wakeup support for the BRCMSTB driver, also for
wakeup from S5 cold boot.
- Mask MXC IRQs during suspend.
- Improve OMAP2 GPIO set_debounce() to work according to spec.
- The VF610 driver handles IRQs properly.
New drivers:
- ZTE ZX GPIO driver.

handlers in the IRQ flow which is nice.
- Rob Herring killed off the set_irq_flags() for all GPIO drivers.
This was an ARM specific function that is replaced with the generic
irq_modify_status() where special flags are actually needed.
- When an OF node has a pin range for its GPIOs, return -EPROBE_DEFER
if the pin controller isn't available. Pretty logical, yet needed
to be fixed.
- If a driver using GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP has its own irq_*_resources call
back, then call these instead of the defaults provided by the
GPIOLIB.
- Fix an undocumented ABI hole: named GPIOs were not properly
documented.
Driver improvements:
- Add get_direction() support to the generic GPIO driver, it's
strange that we didn't have that before.
- Make it possible to have input-only GPIO chips using the generic
GPIO driver.
- Clean out platform data support from the Emma Mobile (EM) driver
- Finegrained runtime PM support for the RCAR driver.
- Support r8a7795 (R-car H3) in the RCAR driver.
- Support interrupts on GPIOs 16 thru 31 in the DaVinci driver.
- Some consolidation and new support in the MPC8xxx driver, we now
support MPC5125.

The current versions of the trf7970a has an erratum where it returns
an extra byte in the response to 'Read Multiple Block' (RMB) commands.
This command is issued to Type 5 tags (i.e., ISO/IEC 15693 tags) by
the neard daemon.
To handle this, define a new Device Tree property,
't5t-rmb-extra-byte-quirk', which indicates that the associated
trf7970a device has this erratum. The trf7970a device driver
will then ensure that the response length to RMB commands is

NFCEE IDs.
Move nci_nfcee_discover() call to nci_discover_se() in order to
guarantee:
- NFCEE_DISCOVER_CMD run when the NCI state machine is initialized
- NFCEE_DISCOVER_CMD is not run in case there is not discover_se
hook defined by a NFC device driver.

The current implementation limits nci_core_conn_create_req()
to only manage NCI_DESTINATION_NFCEE.
Add new parameters to nci_core_conn_create() to support all
destination types described in the NCI specification.
Because there are some parameters with variable size dynamic
buffer allocation is needed.

The st21nfcb chipset has 3 SWP (Single Wire Protocol) lines and
supports up to 3 secure elements (UICC/eSE and µSD in the future).
Some st21nfcb firmware does not support the nci command
nci_nfcee_mode_set(NCI_NFCEE_DISABLE). For this reason, we assume
2 secures elements are always present (UICC and eSE).
They will be added to the SE list once successfully activated and
they will be available only after running through enable_se
handler or when the poll in listen mode is started.
During initialization, the white_list will be always set assuming
both UICC & eSE are present.
On eSE activation, the ATR bytes are fetched to build the command
exchange timeout.
The se_io hook will allow to transfer data over SWP. 2 kind of
events may appear data is sent over:
- ST21NFCB_EVT_TRANSMIT_DATA when receiving an apdu answer
- ST21NFCB_EVT_WTX_REQUEST when the secure element needs more time
than expected to process a command. If this timeout expires, we
send a software reset, and then a hardware one if it still fails.

st21nfca has 1 physical SWP line and can support up to 2 secure elements
(UICC & eSE) thanks to an external switch managed with a gpio.
The platform integrator needs to specify thanks to 2 initialization
properties, uicc-present and ese-present, if it is suppose to have uicc
and/or ese. Of course if the platform does not have an external switch,
only one kind of secure element can be supported. Those parameters are
under platform integrator responsibilities.
During initialization, the white_list will be set according to those
parameters.
The discovery_se function will assume a secure element is physically
present according to uicc-present and ese-present values and will add it
to the secure element list. On ese activation, the atr is retrieved to
calculate a command exchange timeout based on the first atr(TB) value.
The se_io will allow to transfer data over SWP. 2 kind of events may appear
after a data is sent over:
- ST21NFCA_EVT_TRANSMIT_DATA when receiving an apdu answer
- ST21NFCA_EVT_WTX_REQUEST when the secure element needs more time than
expected to compute a command. If this timeout expired, a first recovery
tentative consist to send a simple software reset proprietary command.
If this tentative still fail, a second recovery tentative consist to send
a hardware reset proprietary command.
This function is only relevant for eSE like secure element.
This patch also change the way a pipe is referenced. There can be
different pipe connected to the same gate with different host destination
(ex: CONNECTIVITY). In order to keep host information every pipe are
reference with a tuple (gate, host). In order to reduce changes, we are
keeping unchanged the way a gate is addressed on the Terminal Host.
However, this is working because we consider the apdu reader gate is only
present on the eSE slot also the connectivity gate cannot give a reliable
value; it will give the latest stored pipe value.

pull request: wireless-next 2014-10-03
Please pull tihs batch of updates intended for the 3.18 stream!
For the iwlwifi bits, Emmanuel says:
"I have here a few things that depend on the latest mac80211's changes:
RRM, TPC, Quiet Period etc... Eyal keeps improving our rate control
and we have a new device ID. This last patch should probably have
gone to wireless.git, but at that stage, I preferred to send it to
-next and CC stable."
For (most of) the Atheros bits, Kalle says:
"The only new feature is testmode support from me. Ben added a new method
to crash the firmware with an assert for debug purposes. As usual, we
have lots of smaller fixes from Michal. Matteo fixed a Kconfig
dependency with debugfs. I fixed some warnings recently added to
checkpatch."
For the NFC bits, Samuel says:
"We've had major updates for TI and ST Microelectronics drivers, and a
few NCI related changes.
For TI's trf7970a driver:
- Target mode support for trf7970a
- Suspend/resume support for trf7970a
- DT properties additions to handle different quirks
- A bunch of fixes for smartphone IOP related issues
For ST Microelectronics' ST21NFCA and ST21NFCB drivers:
- ISO15693 support for st21nfcb
- checkpatch and sparse related warning fixes
- Code cleanups and a few minor fixes
Finally, Marvell added ISO15693 support to the NCI stack, together with a
couple of NCI fixes."
For the Bluetooth bits, Johan says:
"This 3.18 pull request replaces the one I did on Monday ("bluetooth-next
2014-09-22", which hasn't been pulled yet). The additions since the last
request are:
- SCO connection fix for devices not supporting eSCO
- Cleanups regarding the SCO establishment logic
- Remove unnecessary return value from logging functions
- Header compression fix for 6lowpan
- Cleanups to the ieee802154/mrf24j40 driver
Here's a copy from previous request that this one replaces:
'
Here are some more patches for 3.18. They include various fixes to the
btusb HCI driver, a fix for LE SMP, as well as adding Jukka to the
MAINTAINERS file for generic 6LoWPAN (as requested by Alexander Aring).
I've held on to this pull request a bit since we were waiting for a SCO
related fix to get sorted out first. However, since the merge window is
getting closer I decided not to wait for it. If we do get the fix sorted
out there'll probably be a second small pull request later this week.
'"
And,
"Unless 3.17 gets delayed this will probably be our last -next pull request for
3.18. We've got:
- New Marvell hardware supportr
- Multicast support for 6lowpan
- Several of 6lowpan fixes & cleanups
- Fix for a (false-positive) lockdep warning in L2CAP
- Minor btusb cleanup"
On top of all that comes the usual sort of updates to ath5k, ath9k,
ath10k, brcmfmac, mwifiex, and wil6210. This time around there are
also a number of rtlwifi updates to enable some new hardware and
to reconcile the in-kernel drivers with some newer releases of the
Realtek vendor drivers. Also of note is some device tree work for
the bcma bus.
Please let me know if there are problems!

We decide to return directly in case of successful execution because skb
got already freed. In st21nfca_tm_recv_dep_req it got freed by nfc_tm_data_received.

Add target mode support to the trf7970a
NFC driver. This effectively enables full
Peer-to-Peer support.
To handle changing framing between sending
a response frame and receiving the subsequent
request frame, most of the framing changes
take effect in the interrupt handler and not
in trf7970a_tg_config_framing().

The digital layer can try to send a command with a
timeout value of zero (e.g., digital_tg_send_psl_res().
The zero value is used as a flag to indicate that
the driver should not expect a response. To handle
this, the driver sets an internal timer because it
should still get an interrupt with the TX bit set
in the IRQ Status Register. When it gets that
interrupt, it returns a return value of '0'.
If it doesn't get the interrupt before timing out,
it returns ETIMEDOUT as usual.

Some paths leave a timer still running when
trf7970a_send_err_upstream() is called. This
can cause a timeout to occur in a subsequent
transaction making it fail. Fix this by ensuring
there is no timer running before sending an error
upstream.

Currently, the trf7970a driver blindly turns on its
RF field when configuring its framing. This isn't
a good idea if there is already a device generating
an RF field. Instead, check if there is already an
RF field present before turning on this device's RF
field and, if there is, return EBUSY.

The current code assumes that CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME
is always defined so it won't power up the trf7970a
when it isn't enabled. Fix this by moving the power
up/down code from the pm_runtime_resume/suspend
routines into their own routines and calling the
power up function from the probe routine. This
ensures the device is powered up even when
CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME is not defined.
In order to not power on/off a device that is
already powered on/off, create a new state to
indicate that the power is off (TRF7970A_ST_PWR_OFF).

Depending on the interrupt status value given by the
trf7970a, the driver may not know when a receive operation
is complete. To handle this, the driver waits for a period
of time in case the trf7970a interrupts it again indicating
there are more RX data in the FIFO. It is possible that the
timeout will occur when there are RX data in the FIFO but
before the trf7970a has generated an interrupt to tell the
driver about it. Handle this by calling trf7970a_drain_fifo()
(instead of trf7970a_send_upstream() which just passes up the
data gathered to far) to check if there are more data in the
FIFO. If so, gather that data into the receive buffer. If
not, pass the data collected so far upstream as before.

Receiving an interrupt whose Interrupt Status Register
value has only the SRX bit set is supposed to mean that
all of the data from the tag has been received. That
turns out to not be true so we need to reread the FIFO
Status Register to tell if there are any new bytes in
the FIFO. If there are, continue receiving them; if
there aren't, assume that the receive is complete and
pass the data up.

Commit 4dd836e46c ("NFC: trf7970a: Reset FIFO when
'End of TX' Interrupt Occurs") fixes the issue that
it was meant to fix but adds the unfortunate side
effect of causing the driver to report an error
when the TX low-watermark level is passed during
transmits. This can be fixed by checking whether
the IRQ status indicates that the low-watermark
has been passed when transmitting. If it has been
passed and the FIFO is empty, then its safe to reset
the FIFO. Otherwise, silently continue since another
TX interrupt will be generated and the FIFO will be
reset then.

Handle the case where trf7970a_fill_fifo() is
called but there is no room in the FIFO for
more TX data. When this happens, wait for
another interrupt indicating that there is
now space (and set a timer in case that
interrupt never occurs).
